Infinity enchantment

Use this Infinity enchantment page to confirm max level 1, compatible items, conflicts, and how to plan the anvil order before Too Expensive appears.

Infinity

Max level

Infinity can be applied up to level 1. Use that cap when planning books, item combines, and final anvil cost.

Level 1

Compatible items

Infinity works with these items in the catalog. Open an item page to start from that item and compare full builds.

Incompatible enchantments

These enchantments conflict with Infinity in normal survival rules.

Infinity planning notes

Infinity lets a normal arrow support continued shooting, which makes a bow feel convenient during travel and early survival. The main planning issue is the Mending conflict. Infinity can be excellent, but it creates a bow that eventually needs replacement or careful repair planning.

When it is worth using

Use Infinity when arrow management is the bigger problem than long-term bow permanence. It is helpful for exploration, casual overworld combat, and players who do not want to carry multiple stacks of arrows.

Tradeoffs and conflicts

The Mending conflict means an Infinity bow cannot repair itself with XP in normal rules. Unbreaking becomes more important, and repeated anvil repairs can eventually make the bow expensive.

Best pairings

  • PowerPower gives the Infinity bow enough damage to justify keeping it in the kit.
  • UnbreakingUnbreaking slows durability loss because Mending is not available.
  • FlameFlame is a preference pairing when burning targets helps the bow's role.

Example planning note

Choose Infinity before staging the rest of the bow. If the planned bow already has repairs or many optional books, compare it with a cleaner Mending bow route before spending rare books.

Anvil planning notes

  • Add Infinity after checking every compatible item and conflict, especially when the build already has high prior work penalty.
  • Minecraft raises anvil cost every time an item or book is worked, so balanced combine trees help keep the final step cheaper.
  • Test the complete set in the workbench before spending levels in-game to reduce Too Expensive risk.
